Funke Akindele and Julius Agwu to host the NEA Awards

Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA) is proud to announce that Funke Akindele will be gracing the stage this year as a co-host alongside Nigerian top comedian Julius Agwu. The 2011 Nigeria Entertainment Awards festivities will run from the 2nd to the 5th of September 2011 in New York City with the main awards ceremony taking place on the 4th of September 2011, at 5:00pm at the Sharp Theater of the Symphony Space in New York. 

This year’s nominees highlight new and young talents that are destined to shape the future of African Entertainment with nominees spanning throughout Africa. Artists receiving multiple nominations this year include Asa, Naeto C, Banky W, MI, Don Jazzy, Ice Prince and Olamide. Over 5,000 registered voters continue to log in votes daily for their favorite entertainers. Voting is online at our website – www.nigeriaentawards.com or via mobile phones –www.nigeriaentawards/mobilevote and runs through August 27, 2011.

Nude pictures of Amber hit the internet 48 hours ago, some say she released it on purpose, as nude pictures have worked for the likes of Kim Kardashian, Chris Brown, Bobby Valentino and Rihanna e.t.c.
She tweeted;

I was gonna wait until my radio show to address this but I want to say this now. I trusted someone that worked 4 me & allowed them to use my laptop a million times, I caught this person sending my pics to themselves and I fired this person immediately Wiz & I & both of our families have known about this for 2 months now. We tried to prepare ourselves for this day. Those pictures r 2 1/2 years old just sitting in my computer. I'm really hurt & embarr#!@%*#ed because I have so many young girls that look up to me. I would never put those pics out of myself.

She also tweeted

The company that I was working with no longer wants to work with me because of these pics and that prevents me from getting money to take care of my family. Its a messed up situation when someone so evil comes into ur life and tries to destroy it. I know I'm not the only girl in the world that has taken pics like that but they were very private. I'm sorry for letting my young Rosebuds down. Pls understand this was a result of trusting a person that didn't deserve my trust. I have cried for the past 2 days but I know this to shall p#!@%*#. Thank u for all of ur support.

Wonder if this would prevent her from partaking in the Music Meets Runway event she's schedules to be host in Lagos July 7th, because, its reported that some sponsors of the show do not want to associate with her brand anymore.

Singer and Actress Christy Uduak Essien igbokwe is dead

Nigeria's lady of songs, Christy Uduak Essien Igbokwe died this morning on her sick bed, aged 50. She had her first album 'Freedom' in 1976 at the age of 16,‘Patience’ and ‘Time Waits for No One’ both released in 1978,‘One Understanding’ in 1979, ‘Give Me A Chance’ in 1980 and ‘Ever Liked My Person’ in 1981, this was her ground breaking album. She was also the first female PMAN president between 1996 and 1999.

Chioma Toplis: Feud with Oge Okoye goes on + Brand new pictures

Since late last year, the feud between London based actress Chioma Toplis and Oge OKoye has been reported severally, well it seems they are yet to find peace as Chioma wrote on Facebook last week,

the June 20th of June to be precise...

 “Please any one that knows actress Oge Okoye should tell her to free me o, as i am very very busy with my business which is why i am in Nigeria and do not and will never have time for her idle gosips and side talks. While you do please tell her also to concentrate in taking care of her children as i am doing too, and stop wasting her time discussing me as i am not the cause of her failed marriage". 

Not long after she wrote again, “While Oge Okoye is biting the fingers that fed her, she should also remember that those fingers could still choke her, especially MINE”, guess their problem won't be ending anytime soon. Anyway check out her new set of pictures, click READ MORE to see all.

Mercy Johnson starts marraige classes

According to NigerianFilms, Mercy Johnson and her beau who returned from France and the United states for their wedding shopping a few days ago have now started marriage classes at The Christ Embassy Church, Oregun, Lagos. This is in preparation for their wedding on August 27th, and the marriage class entails teaching the couple how to cope with the challenges of matrimony, and will last for a few more weeks.
