According to BBC News, Nigeria's lower house of parliament has approved a deal in which offenders convicted in Britain will serve their jail terms in their home country, though this still needs approval by the Senate. Approximately 600 Nigerian inmates are said to be held in British jails, but it is not clear how many will face deportation.

The UK Ministry of Justice said foreigners who "abuse our hospitality" and have no legal right to stay should be deported "at the earliest opportunity".

"Where possible those foreign nationals who receive a prison sentence should serve their sentences in their own countries," they added

Nigerian prisons are already overcrowded but Nigerian MP Jerry Manwe said that they can accommodate the inflow of new inmates.

Night Club Owner Suz Q, Tells Us Things We Didn't Know About D'Prince's New Club

Susan Yusuf aka Suzy Q (CEO of SQ club) in a recent interview, fed us details we didn't know about D'Prince's new club 'JONZING'. She said:-

I have known a lot of Nigeria celebrities and I am not impressed with them. They are too fluffy. I was discussing with a friend on the need to partner with a celebrity. He asked whom I have in mind and I said I don't have anyone,because I am not too keen about Nigeria's entertainment industry. I sought his advice and he said no one on his mind. I later saw a video of Don Jazzy. 

That's Prince's behind Who am I? I have the song and love his personality. I told my friend and he said that was Prince. He got his number and I called Prince. Why I finally decided to partner with him was his humility. He responded to me politely the first time I spoke with him on phone. He came over and discussed the terms and agreements.

While deliberating on the rebranding, we were clueless on the new name. Remember, I made the move on partnership. Thus, while discussing I gave him several names but he was not cool about it. He said they sounded more European. He said it should be a Naija thing. He later maintained Jonzing. I asked what that means and he said that was the name of one of the songs in his album songs. He told me what it means and I fell in love with it.

Brand New: Nigeria's First Ever 24 Hours NEWS Radio Station

A new Nigerian radio station, Nigeria Info 99.3 FM has just hit the airwaves, and will be a 24hrs News/Talk show aimed at becoming Nigeria's CNN.  It is co-owned by Cool FM and Wazobia FM, and according to Managing Director, Mr Amin Mousalli the station will be on a 24hour non-stop programming and would air two live premiership matches every Saturday. He said,

“Our target audience is eople of 25 yrs and above and anyone who is interested in hard core news”.

On Air Personalities, Matse Uwatse of Wazoba FM, George Omagbemi of Cool FM, and Femi Obong Daniels of Cool FM are among those joining the new radio station.

Senate "If anyone wants to indulge in prostitution ... should be registered and issued a license".

Due to concerns of trafficking, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu asked the Senate to consider the possibility of legalising and regulating prostitution in the country since it has become impossible to stop prostitution entirely. He said

“we need to regulate prostitution in this country so that if anyone wants to indulge in prostitution, the person should be registered and issued with a license. If we say we want to stop it, it would be difficult. It is done in other countries; let us regulate it by issuing license"

Senate President David Mark added

“the FCT administration has been trying to stop but they are facing stiff resistance because the prostitutes have their association and even their own legal adviser. It is a reasonably organised bad profession.”

Also, several senators advocated for amendment to the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) Act to provide for capital punishment for those involved in human trafficking.

Apart from the name of this new movie being borrowed, looking at the poster it reminds me of American movie 'DreamGirls', though i haven't read the script i'm hoping it's not an African version of DreamGirls because that'll be epic fail.

New Nollywood/Hollywood Movie ft Lauren London, Todd Bridge, Emie Hudson, Patience Ozokwor

E4 PR and HekCentrik Productions has just confirmed their Hollywood feature film, “Turning Point”. The movie is Produced/Directed by Niyi Towolawi (CEO of HekCentrik Productions) and Co-produced by Egor Efiok (CEO of E4 PR). HekCentrik Productions are  the makers of Africa’s first digital 35mm picture “TWisTED”, and this project has been generating a buzz in recent months amongst people in the know within the industry that a Hollywood film starring Nollywood stars in leading roles is in pre-production.

The movie is set in New York, and the plot explores ethnic prejudice amongst the various black communities in America (a la “Crash”) and centres around a Nigerian investment banker that bows to family pressure to abandon his American sweetheart for an arranged wife from back home. His life is turned upside-down when the marriage turns out not too rosy, setting off a chain of events that forces him to confront his reckless past.

It features Nollywood stars Jackie Appiah, Igoni Archibong (E4 PR Star), Patience Ozokwor (Mama Gee), Enyinna Nwigwe, Ebbe Bassey and Chelsea Eze (E4 PR Star), alongside Hollywood actors Lauren London (“ATL”, “I Love You, Beth Cooper”, “Good Hair”), Ernie Hudson (“Ghostbusters”, “Law and Order”, “Desperate Housewives”), Todd Bridges (“Diff'rent Strokes”, “Everybody Hates Chris”), Cynda Williams (“Mo’ Better Blues”, “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge”) and Joe Estevez (“Apocalypse Now”, “Spanish Fly”). 

The Hollywood production crew who have worked on numerous Hollywood blockbusters are very keen to bring to life this innovative approach of Africa-centric storytelling. “They are nothing but a dream team and it’s amazing how they have caught the vision and passion that we convey”. The crew includes award-winning FX makeup artist and E4 PR Star, Lola Maja-Okojevoh.
