Youtube.com.ng Launch In Nigeria

Few days ago, YouTube launch of YouTube in Nigeria, it will now offer some of the most informative and entertaining video content from around the world through www.youtube.com.ng, which Nigerians related contents.

Individuals such as Jason Njoku, the entrepreneurial spirit behind Nollywood Love, or companies such as 37th State, which set up an urban, African culture and lifestyle channel shows that from amateur to professional content, from the unexpected to the emotionally affecting, the educational to the entertaining, Nigerians now have greater flexibility to tell their stories, and find videos most useful to them.

Patrick Walker, YouTube's senior director, said "Nigerians are passionate about music, entertainment and many other genres that YouTube offers. By launching YouTube locally, we help people to find the most popular videos in Nigeria, along with those that are rising in popularity".

At the YouTube launch event in Lagos today, Nollywood Love announced the launch of iRok TV, whilst Storm360 announced the launch of 6 new YouTube channels. 37th State announced the premiere of its first short film and documentary, Nkiru, which is to take place on December 18, 2011.

One of YouTube's key priorities, in addition to the making the platform a comprehensive destination, is to ensure that videos load and play quickly, even in places where bandwidth is at a premium. Improving Internet access remains a key priority for Internet players across Africa. Also, users have the option to watch videos with YouTube Feather. This "light" version only includes the site's most basic features, to help ensure that those with low-speed Internet connections are able to play videos play faster. YouTube Feather can be found in TestTube (http://www.youtube.com/testtube), the area on the site where new products are tested.

"She is a major Nollywood actress and is loved and adored for the skills she brings to her acting and has acted in over two dozen movies. She is pretty and classy and is well respected today in the industry. Her public image since she hit it big in Nollywood has largely been squeaky clean as most of the shenanigans associated with others have no place in her life. But long before she became a celebrity, her private world was in shambles. She was according to a close source “a hustler who had to do whatever it took to survive” and survive she did.
According to our investigations, the middle belt born actress as a student in one of the colleges in the northern part of Nigeria “was the lady of choice for the rich and the powerful in that part of Nigeria. She was in such high demand that she could barely spend a night in her hostel. Every night, an exotic car would come and fetch her and the rewards were plentiful. She had all the designer clothes and was travelling regularly to important tourist destinations. Even though she ‘worked’ hard for her money, she was none the less generous. who could not afford certain things, she would give them money. She was not ashamed to use her ‘gift’ to take care of her needs.” A close friend had told us.
It was during one of her night outs, according to a source that she met a Nollywood producer who was taken in by her beauty and intellect, and decided to cast her in one of his movies – thus launching her into the world of stardom she currently enjoys. “I still remember that night when she came back and was giddy with excitement” a source has revealed. “She was screaming...guys, I am going to become a big star. I just met a top
Nollywood director who has promised to cast me in his next movie...Oh God I am so happy.” And true to the director’s promise, she has become a huge star today and we are so proud of her.
In spite of her past shenanigans, the actress today has conducted herself in such a dignified manner, and has largely stayed out of scandals. A friend defended her past actions. “She needed to take care of things and what she did was legitimate. She used what she got to have what she desired. Imagine if she did not do so, would the world have come to appreciate her acting skills that we today have been privileged to see? She may have been one of the statistics of young and talented women who wasted their talents because no one looked their way. Even though I do not rationalize fully the tendency for young women to ‘hustle’ sometimes, it is difficult for them to help themselves. She is today, the very definition of a mature, solid and wellloved actress – her past has nothing to do with what she is today and I am so proud of her".

A few months ago, we did a post HERE about the fabulous proposal gospel singer Nikki Laoye got from her partner, Alexander Oturu. He proposed to her online via his blog Sammieal.blogspot.com

Well, they have now set Sunday, December 10, 2011 for their wedding which will take place at The Grandeur Event Centre, Billingsway, Oregun, Ikeja.

Laoye in her music career has released just one album ‘Angel 4 Life’ and recently headlined the One Mic Naija live band gig.

UK Based Ghanaian Gospel Singer/ Pastor Impregnates 3 More Church Members

According to GhanaMusic, 31yr old  Pastor, Kwaku Antwi-kusi Junior who has already fathered 2 children with a different church member recently realised that 3 more of his church members are pregnant for him at the same time. It is also being alleged that he is secretly married to another church member and since this recent development, he fled leaving the pregnant women and his church which since closed down.

It's a shame I have only very little facts about this actual situation, but since the story got out, a lot of people have been praying and cursing the Pastor. What is your take on this situation, Is it ok for pastors be judged at a higher standard than the rest of us?

We all knew that things would get better for Baba Suwe if he won the court case against NDLEA. Those of you following this blog know that he was awarded a whopping N25m in damages.

Though NDLEA insist on appealing the case, news at the moment has it that Baba Suwe is currently living life as though the N25m has landed in his account. Allegedly, he has recently refused a number of movie and MC roles. And to top it all, he just found love in a lady called Sherifat Ilerika.

Money is good right? If this is true, I urge Oga Suwe to wait till his N25m enters his account, because you can't be so sure NDLEA will pay ... This is Naija, shine your eye.
