Nigerian Rappers React To Don Jazzy's Anti Rap Comment

Mo’Hits boss, Don Jazzy commented on Nigerian rappers and their style of music, in an interview in HipHopWorld Magazine, Don Jazzy stated 

‘If you decide that you want to do rap, there is one thing that you should put at the back of your mind; you parents are not proud of you whether you like it or not ... I think Modenine is a very good rapper but I’m not a big fan of his music because that’s like the old school of rap. I really can’t understand, I can’t take dictionary and be listening to your lyrics, I’m sorry ... You can’t expect to go to Ajegunle and you put McDonalds on one side and ‘Mama Put’ on the other side and expect the McDonalds to sell more than ‘Mama Put’ that more people can relate to".

Terry, a hip hop star who belonged to the same crew ‘SWATROOT‘ as Modenine, Six Foot plus, ELDEE XL, Overdose, and other respected rappers,  tweeted;

‘Just read wat @DONJAZZY said about rappers and rap music,with all due respect datz just WRONG! Its a diss 2 us rappers tho. #BANS ... "If you decide dat u want 2 do rap,there is 1 thing u shld put at d bk of ur mind,ur parents r not proud of u" @DONJAZZY (Haba!). 

"I find it funny that he dedicated half of his interview to direct disses at Nigerian rappers, it’s surprising yet apologetic." Terry told another magazine in a phone conversation.

Modenine is yet to comment but a few rappers have had a thing or two to say. Rapper A-Q tweeted 

‘Well I do rap & I don’t give a F if my parents r proud of me or not,nI’d rather dey not b proud dan dey be proud of me soundin like D’prince‘.

 Another veteran rapper Illbliss simply tweeted 

‘So our folks ain’t proud of us? Wow‘.

Don Jazzy issued a statement apologizing for the statement on the Mo’Hits website. The statement reads ...

After dropping two smoking hot singles "Back When", featuring Neato C and Damiduro, hip hop sensation, Davido, has succeeded in making a very strong arrival on the Nigerian entertainment scene.

Davido, who started his music career at a very tender age of 13, after a few self-taught lessons in various studios, prior to setting up his own, is the son of Lagos billionaire, Deji Adeleke. Few weeks before he dropped one of his most popular singles, "Back When", he had always envied rap act, Naeto C and had gone ahead to broker a deal with the rapper to feature on his single. 

Informed sources stated that Naeto C who was not aware of the stuff Davido is made of reluctantly  agreed, not on the condition that he would be paid the sum of one million which he thought would scare him away.

Kidnappers Of Mikel Obi's Father Granted Bail For A Sum Of N10m

A court on Wednesday granted bail to two former soldiers and five other suspects charged over the August kidnapping of the father of Chelsea footballer John Obi Mikel.

Federal high court Judge Ambrose Alagoa granted the seven accused bail in the sum of 10 million naira ($63,000, 47,000 euros) each.

“Each of the seven persons standing trial on the three-count charge of conspiracy, causing bodily harm and kidnapping must provide a surety in like sum …,” Alagoa said.

The suspects had earlier pleaded not guilty in the court in the central city of Jos, the capital of Plateau state.

AlapoMeji Records front man 9ice has claimed that his latest double album, Bashorun Gaa and Versus, released late last year has so far sold more than 8 million copies and he is still counting. The Afro-hiphop act made this claim in an interview with TheNEWS magazine.

The singer, who admitted that though there is no sound scanner or proper mechanism to check the actual number of sales of CD in Nigeria, stated that he relies on the figure from the printing firm that handles the album jackets. He also hinged his facts on the proceeds already generated and money that has exchanged hands between him and the marketers.“I know what I am talking about. 

We printed our catalogues in one single place and as they printed, there are verifiable records of jackets they reeled out…I don’t know about other artistes, but whenever I release an album, it sells,” 9ice said in defence of the far-fetched figure.

Ooop!! Bride Divorce's Groom 60 Minutes After Wedding

It is typical to have a wedding go on for years before divorce. Besides, a wedding ring is meant to bond the couple forever until death do them part. But the opposite was the case as a 20 year old Bride divorced 80 year old Groom nearly an hour after their court wedding.

According to report, the judge had initially refused to approve of their union because the bride's guardian had not accompanied the couple. The court later certified the wedding when the 80 year old man brought the person concerned.

She didn't spend 60 minutes in her newly wedded husband's house before she ran back to the same court to opt for a divorce; this is to the amusement of the judge and other personnel working in the court.

She refused to dispense reasons for her request. The judge sought the husband's conset and terminated the union and she returned the dowry to the elderly man.

God knows the reason she opted for a divorce. But come to think of it; that old man is old enough to be her grand father. Anyway, it's not for me to say!!

OMG!!! Sheep Gave Birth To Half-Human Being In Sokoto

On 22 January, 2011, in a government a owned veterinary clinic at Fakon Idi Veterinary Clinic, a sheep gave birth to a monstrous being. When it was discovered that it was difficult for the sheep to deliver, that was point when the need for the surgeons to carry out the operation. On delivering, the surgeons were amazed by sight of the monster baby that looked half-human.

Garba Aminu, a commercial motorcycle rider, averred: 

“This is an abomination in our land. To see a sheep give birth to a half human being is a mystery and that shows how terrible some people are. It is unimaginable that some people will be having intercourse with animals.” 

Another onlooker, who simply gave his name as Danladi, wondered how such a development could happen in a morally upright state like Sokoto where the Islamic faith is so deep.
