Funke Akindele's White & Traditional Wedding Photos Album. Genevieve, Tiwa & Others In Attendance

Well Funke Akindele and Kehinde Almaroof have now tied the knot. Though we expected the engagement to hold today May 26th and the white wedding in December, there were speculations that the actress had changed the wedding plans, many assumed she changed the wedding location, but it later became obvious that instead of splitting both ceremonies, she planned to have the white and traditional wedding as one big ceremony.

Following her Nikkai ceremony which held few days ago, Funke who was a christian now has a muslim name 'Khadijat'.

Comedian Gbenga Adeyinka hosted the white wedding while TV show host, Foluke Ogunjimi hosted the traditional wedding. Celebrities flocked the event including Genevieve Nnaji, Eldee the Don, Chioma Akpotha, Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo, Ini Edo, Tiwa Savage, Ireti Osayemi and many more.

Who says floor length white dresses should be reserved strictly for your fairy tale day? As you can see in some of these photos, our celebrities rocked it to several evening events across the city yet they looked totally angelic. 

Designer Bridget Awosika knows how to play with white, Singer Tiwa Savage, TV presenter Adora Oleh and the designer herself have on different occasions rocked lovely white dresses from her collection. Tiwa stirred things up a little as she opted for an open back floor length version - a little risky but thanks to it she didn't go unnoticed at the Headies last year while Bridget rocked a similar piece at the Elite Model Look Nigeria last year. Adora wore hers to last year's fab award ceremony  the three ladies ooze with class and poise. 

At the very bottom is the newly wed, Stephanie Okereke - Idahosa, she rocked her halter neck dress to kanekalon hair event and with a thin belt on her waist the dress looks like it was made just for her.

VIDEO: Ola & Chris Speak About Their Sudden Exit From The Big Brother House

Nigerian contestants at this years Big Brother Stargame, Ola and Chris suddenly left the game show voluntarily and their exit has been very controversial among the Nigerian viewers. On the 18th of may Downville housemate Ola decided to leave  the show despite the money involved due to his deteriorating health, the show's rules meant that Chris a fellow Nigerian Downville housemate had to leave as well - Ola had High blood pressure and Cholesterol related problems. This leaves singer Goldie Harvey, an upville house-mate as Nigerian's only representative.

As you know actress Funke Akindele announced her wedding plans following her engagement to Kehinde Almaroof, she has already started taking steps as family and friends gathered in a small ceremony in her parents home to celebrate her Nikkai.

Nikkai is an Islamic wedding right to bless the marriage, it also involves signing the marriage contract - to practising muslims, avoiding this right makes the bride a mere concubine. Though Funke was known to be a born again Christian and her mother a Mountain of Fire pastor, this ceremony was necessary considering her husband is a Muslim. 

Her engagement ceremony was scheduled for tomorrow the 26th of May at All Seasons Plaza Ikeja, but there are speculations that the date has been changed to stop fans from crowding at the venue.

Tamara Eteimo emerged as winner of the 2011 edition of popular reality television show, Next Movie Star which ended in December 2010. This month she was presented her cash prize and a brand new SUV and cash prize at a star studded presentation ceremony where fans, friends and followers of the show converged to celebrate the winners. Vivian Egbon, the third runner up was the first to receive her cash prize and LCD TV. then Aisha Alli-Balogun and Tomiwa Kukoyi who were second and first runners up respectively. They also got cash prizes and LCD TVs each. Eteimo, a Theatre Arts graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was  then presented with the keys to her car and her cash prize. 

Since its inception in 2005 winners had always went away with a brand new Kia Rio car but the organisers of the show, Digital Interactive Media, upped the game when the 2010 winner, Akio Precious Ilami went away with a Nissan X-Trail SUV. The show has served as a platform for the likes of Tonto Dikeh, Uti Nwachukwu, Karen Igho & others who are now famous in Nigerian showbiz. Tamara is currently a lead character in Dormitory 8, a comedy series focusing on the day to day existence of eight undergraduates of fictional ECOWAS University.

Meet the 2012 Mr Universe Nigeria contestants. The maiden edition which will host approximately 2,000 guests will hold on June 16th at Scintilla Events Centre, Lagos. Before the big day, there will be a fashion show on the 2nd of June to be hosted by Channel O Vj Derenle Edun and celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji.

Twenty six young men were selected during the audition which held in April and May accross Nigerian's biggest cities and before the event the contestants will be camped for a week, they will be given rules to follow. As well as cash and consolation prizes, the top winning contestants will be given the opportunity to represent Nigeria internationally with hope that they will be poached by top producers/scouts to become top models, movie performers etc.

The movie, TOBI premiered at Ozone Cinema, Yaba, Lagos ob the 18th of May, and the likes of Benita Nzeribe, Jide & Sola Kosoko, Zeal, Monalisa Chinda, Nikki Laoye, Crozz, Susan Peters graced the red carpet including the movie’s American lead actor, Mark Williams who played the role of Tobi Akinola and  U.S-based Nigerian actress, Chisom Oz-Lee.

The movie which is presently showing in several cinemas across the country unveils a mix of Nigerians, Americans and Hispanics - Chet Anekwe (Phat Girlz, 30 Days, Unwanted Guest), Mark Lavan Williams, Jimmy Allen, Chisom Oz Lee, Arturo Castro, Patrick Dean and Elizabeth Ness. It boasts of the deployment of first class legal battle antics beautifully woven into the court room scenes by the producer Emmanuel Ijeh.

This drama explores the consequences of what happens when 21-year-old Tobi (Mark Williams) bows to the dark side of gang pressure. In a flash, a seemingly morally upright young man gets caught in a web of violence, guns, bloodshed, drugs, parental expectations and conflicting voices in his head. Interestingly, the bond of brotherhood also stretches the thematic window of choices and sacrifice.

Rihanna who was at the London O2  for Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne show on Saturday joined the Chelsea players at Bouji night club Kensington shortly after to celebrate their Champions League victory. It is being reported that she hunted the boys down and though they were surprised to see her, she bonded very well with them but mostly with Drogba.

Drogba on the other hand has announced that at the end of June, the 34year old will be leaving the club after eight years with them. He said

"'I wanted to put an end to all the speculation and confirm that I am leaving Chelsea. It has been a very difficult decision for me to make and I am very proud of what we have achieved but the time is right for a new challenge for me”.

He leaves as the clubs fourth highest scorers of all times with 157 goals in 341 appearances.

BET 2012: Wizkid & Iceprince Nominated For 'Best International Act (Africa)' Category

Black Entertainment Award (BET) 2012 is here again, and of the five nominees in the 'best international artist - Africa' category, Nigeria’s Iceprince and wizkid are named. The other artists on the list are Kenya’s Camp Mulla, South Africa’s Lira, Mali’s Mokobe, and Ghana’s Sarkordie. 

The awards will hold on the 1st of July 2012 at Shrine auditorium, Los Angeles. The show's host this year is Samuel L. Jackson, performance by Chris brown and Ncki Minaj should be expected, as well as a Whitney Houston tribute.

Meet Saharra, The Nigerian Transgender Contestant at the 2011 Miss International Queen Contest

Miss International Queen pageant which began in 2004 can be described as the world's most watched transgender contest held yearly in Thailand. One of the 2011 contestant, Miss Saharra, a 26year old UK based Nigerian who relocated to the UK 7years ago and in that time she attained two university degrees. When asked why she chose to represent her birth country, she explained ...

''I was very feminine when I was growing up and often got harassed and beaten up badly ... the terrible memories flood back when I look at the scars all over my body ... We are called a crude name that translates loosely into faggot and are forced to live underground ... I am living my life openly as a woman. I am very happy … I decided to travel to Thailand to enter this competition not to win but to show suppressed transgender people in Nigeria that they too can make their dreams come true"

She highlighted her dislike for tags like transgender, transvestite or transsexual. ''I am a woman. That's it,'' she says. Of the twenty three contestants, she came runner up to 21year old Miss Thailand who went away with USD10,000.
